Weekend Recap: The Open Championship
Brian Harmon is a force of nature.
It’s not often that Thursday and Friday are more exciting than the weekend at a major golf tournament, but Brian Harmon basically had this thing in the bag by Friday afternoon and Saturday and Sunday almost felt like formalities so he could finally lift The Claret Jug after the 72nd hole. It was an unfortunate outcome from a viewer’s perspective as all of the overhyped storylines and anticipated drama were swept aside, but Harman’s performance was indeed an incredible accomplishment. Rory and Rahm both played well and gave chase as best they could, but Harman’s game was far too steady to allow anyone to make a real run. That also sadly puts an end to the 2023 major season, but that mostly means you can now expect everyone’s attention to shift to the Ryder Cup, and you can almost certainly count on Brian Harmon being a part of that team.
