The Ryder Cup

Sep 29th – Oct 1st | Marco Simone Golf Club | Rome, Italy

After what feels like an eternity, we have finally made it to Ryder Cup week. Each team of 12 is stacked and ready to go, and we now have three days of incredible golf and heated competition to finish off the 2023 calendar season. We were thrilled to welcome our friend Keith Stewart on to the Bantee Podcast to hear him break down the Ryder Cup from a betting perspective and share a bit about how he’s leaning heading into Friday.

Check him out each day at ReadTheLine.com, and subscribe to the RTL newsletter to get Keith’s live picks each morning. The USA is still favored to win, but just ever so slightly relatively to where they started in the odds this time last year.

Check out this excerpt from our friends at DataGolf (highly recommend reading their blog in full here):

Our final (pre-event) Ryder Cup forecast has Team USA at 50.2% to win, Team Europe 41.8% to win, and an 8.0% chance of a tie... Things have tightened considerably since early March when we had the Americans’ win probability at 65%. This is mainly due to the emergence of some unexpected European talent in Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Hojgaard, as well as the solid recent form of the top players on the European side. The change in our forecast from last week—USA 54% to win—is due to the inclusion of course-specific factors in this week’s forecast...

Course Fit: No Advantage
Course History: Advantage Europe
Country Adjustment: Advantage Europe

... Looking at this week from an expected points perspective highlights how razor-thin the margins are. Overall our simulations show the Americans winning 14.25 points on average...

Not surprisingly, the data has failed to make its way into any of Team Bantee’s picks this weekend. But, more importantly, who is your pick to win this weekend?

Who will lift the Ryder Cup on Sunday?
