The PNC Championship

Dec 15 - Dec 17 | The Ritz-Carlton Club | Orlando, FL

A totally meaningless but completely wholesome tournament to bring us into the holiday season and ignite the holiday spirit, the PNC Championship is a blast to watch. Some of the best pros in the game, from now and generations past, competing with their children in the best of what golf has to offer. Given the way professional golf is trending and the direction those conversations always seem to go these days, the PNC Championship promises to be a refreshing return to the values and qualities of golf that attracted us to the game in the first place. Turn it on if you have some time this weekend.

Golf News

  • PGA Tour Q-School tees off this weekend

    • The top five players and ties will receive PGA Tour Cards. This is one of the most stressful and exciting events of the year as players compete for a spot on the PGA Tour. Special shoutout and good luck to friend of the program, James Nicholas!

  • Lydia Ko & Jason Day win the Grant Thornton

    • The Grant Thornton Invitational, the first comingling of the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour since 1999, was awesome. We need 1000x more mixed events, and seeing the women and the men paired together and competing as a team while trading off one another’s strengths and weaknesses makes for great television and a really compelling product for fans.

  • Jon Rahm is going to LIV Golf

    • It sounds like the official number here is somewhere around $500m. $500,000,000. Half a billion dollars. Just an astronomical sum of money to make playing professional golf, which makes it hard to blame Jon Rahm too much, but it also makes it incredibly difficult to still be excited about professional golf as a fan of the sport. Who knows what will happen next…
