Golf Ball “Roll Back” Proposal: Yay or Nay?

Earlier this week, the clocks were set forward and the golf ball was rolled back. The USGA and R&A have announced plans to roll back the golf ball for elite players, which could result in a 20-yard reduction in distance off the tee.

LIV vs. LIV

Miami's infamous LIV Nightclub has taken legal action to block LIV Golf's logo trademark filing. Despite being all over Twitter, not much to report here. In our opinion, this is a classic case of "same same, but different” and both LIVs should keep partying and move on.

Rickie for the WIN with the only fun golf news this week!

Rickie Fowler announces that he will be joining TGL, the new golf leagued backed by Tiger and Rory. We weren’t sure what to think of TGL, but we’re hopping on the bandwagon cause if Rickies in, we’re in.

THE PLAYERS 🏆️: Scottie DOES KNOW he’s #1 in the world

Scottie Scheffler reclaimed world #1 status with an absolutely dominant performance at Sawgrass this weekend. Several absurd chip-ins and a masterclass off the tee propelled Scottie to a runaway victory over the most eclectic leaderboard we have seen at an elevated event so far. Min Woo Lee battled a calf cramp throughout the week and showed signs of weakness on Sunday afternoon, but put together an impressive performance in his biggest showing of the season. Tom Hoge messed around and broke the course record at TPC Sawgrass on Saturday, and we saw THREE (3!) aces on the week. If you had both of those items on your bingo card, God Bless you. Additionally, Mr. Homa put together a sneaky T6. Spoiler alert - Max and Scottie should be a thrill at Augusta.

Weekend Preview: Kick back, relax, and get ready to watch paint dry at the Valspar Championship

It’s always hard to follow greatness, but we appreciate the Valspar for stepping up and doing so (especially as the NCAA Tournament gets underway). This is the first non-elevated event after the players-only meetings at The Players, and unfortunately, the field is mucho average. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth headline the commitments, with Justin Rose, Sam Burns, and Tommy Fleetwood also catching our eye. The Texas boys Pierceson Coody and Cole Hammer will look to rack up some vital FedEx points, and we are being blessed with a rare Justin Dufner sighting!

Prize money: $8.1 million. Winner’s share: $1.458 million.

P.S. - The past champions’ parking spots may be the coolest thing going on at Valspar this weekend.

LIV Golf

Heater in Tucson with $4M up for grabs for outright winner

LIV Golf is back in the states for its second event of the season. The total purse matches that of THE PLAYERS, and we’re hoping Phil will let a few of the young guys deepen their pockets this weekend since after all Phil Mickelson was named the world’s highest-paid athlete in 2022.

Prize money: $25 million. Winner’s share: $4 million. Winning team share: $3 million.
