Scottie Scheffler wins the Hero World Challenge

Scottie shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday to take home a three-shot victory at the Hero World Challenge. His putting seems to have massively improved over the past few months, and if that holds true heading into next year you can almost guarantee he’ll be holding onto the world #1 ranking for the foreseeable future.

The week was also a relative success Tiger Woods in his first tournament back since surgery to fuse his right ankle in April. He still hit the ball as far as anyone and he managed to walk four rounds without falling, finishing at even par for the event. If he can keep it up and manage to play in just one event every month or two in 2024, we’ll have to consider that a win.

Golf News

  • The USGA & R&A announce a ball rollback in 2028

    • There’s been so much said about this but it’s still not totally clear what exactly the rollback means from a technology perspective, and how it will be implemented throughout the professional game as well as the amateur game. The general consensus is that everyone can expect to lose about 5-10 yards of distance off their driver, but we’ll stay tuned to see how the situation develops. The threads below from Padraig and Rory are especially interesting in hearing how the pros are thinking about the change.
